This week Behind the Scenes NYC brings you a supertip: how about visiting a restaurant in New York where you’re going to have a different and certainly memorable experience? Then your destiny is Camaje Bistro, located in 85 Macdougal Street, in Greenwich Village, close by other great bars and restaurants, as Minetta Tavern, Il Mulino, Miss Lily’s e Bar Pitti.

The menu offered is american cuisine with french influence (using fresh, organic and seasonal ingredients) and the atmosphere is perfect for those who are looking for a cool place, but small and reserved.

The owner and chief Abigail Hitchcock is talented as much in the kitchen as in administration. She managed to attract with different events such as cooking classes, dinners harmonized with wine, wine tastings, cooking classes for children, afternoon tea with friends, and the amazing Dinner in the Dark, which happens two to three times a month when all clients are blindfolded as soon as the get to the restaurant. They are conducted to the table and the experience begins!

During dinner people are surrounded with live music. A variety of dishes is served – all harmonized with wine – and the menu isn’t revealed until the end of the night! The fun is potentializing all other senses trying to discover the ingredients of each recipy.
